How to view Email Headers in GMAIL

Email headers provide detailed tracking information for an email, showing its journey through different mail servers.

They contain timestamps, IP addresses, and sender/recipient data, which can be invaluable for diagnosing issues like email delivery problems, spam detection errors, and message bouncing.

Steps to View Email Headers in Gmail

  1. Sign in to Gmail using a web browser.
  2. Open the email you want to inspect.
  3. Click on the three vertical dots (More) next to the Reply button.
  4. Select Show original. This will open a new page displaying the email headers.

Sharing Headers with Support Staff

  1. Copy the information in the table at the top of the email headers.
  2. Click the Copy to clipboard button under the table to copy the entire header.
  3. Paste the copied header into an email and include any additional details.
  4. Send the email to Technology Support for further assistance.
